And much kinder said than I would probably have done, truthfully. I just have so little patience for excuses and those who give them regularly. I have met so many cool people who have tough things to overcome and they don't make excuses... those whiners who seem to be getting so much publicity these days- they're the same people who will never succeed no matter how much is 'given' to them.
On my wall in my music room- "Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice." -WJ Bryon
And on the wall in my guest room- "The one who reaches the top of the stairs didn't fall there." -Bergsma (a college graduation gift)
Christine, you are so patient and willing to learn from even those who seem to have nothing to teach. So good of you to share with all of us... makes even those who drive us nuts have a purpose in some way! ;)'Yellow Rose' Jasminehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12496382898548158316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-463655558550518858.post-823752523298779852012-01-01T13:58:13.835-07:002012-01-01T13:58:13.835-07:00Whiners, excuse makers, those who blame everyone a...Whiners, excuse makers, those who blame everyone and everything for their shortcomings get on my last nerve. It goes against human nature for the achievers to support the moochers. There are people who legitimately need help. They are not the ones we are talking about. But to sit back and criticize the "system" and hide behind that to be a loser is pathetic. Read "Atlas Shrugged" - you will be amazed at Ayn Rand's ability to perceive the path that socialism takes a nation.downsizershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10936040379217292517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-463655558550518858.post-90962281436074269832012-01-01T01:40:46.626-07:002012-01-01T01:40:46.626-07:00Superb post, and timely. It brought to mind two favorite quotes:

"Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude."
- Thomas Jefferson

"The most handicapped person in the world is a negative thinker." However, this was a great post. Sadly, way too many people think like your cousin. Very frustrating. And you can't change it. That is a mindset. You called it right when you called it "can't." People who embrace the can't mindset about jobs embrace it about lots of other things, too. Usually they are your negative thinkers, energy suckers, people who will eat up all of your good energy if you let them. It is best to avoid those people like plague. Sad but true.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14932408372240147454noreply@blogger.com
