HDC Day 12.....Secrets Fat Girls Know...

Well, Today was actually awesome.
I did my stairmaster for 40 minutes (127 floors and 330 cals)
And I walked my two miles (200 cals)
Total burn 530

Breakfast eggs and toast 310

Coffee the usual 2 cups...240 cal.

lunch went to a new mediterranean restaurant and had a Romain salad with chicken, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion and 2 Tablespoons of FEta....No dressing...topped out at 250 max.
2 pieces of dark chocolate. small...120 cal.

Dinner
7 crackers and butter 184 cal.
one latortilla burrito with ground beef and 1/3 cup cheese and tomatoes and lettuce
360 cal.

Total dinner 544 calories

Total cals in 1464

Total deficit... around 600.
Works for me.
lol.
Anywhoozle.

So, on to secrets Fat girls know...
Secret one...We know how to dress to make our fat look less.
Dark colors
clothes that skim, and don't cling.
Makeup that hides our double chin
hair that's bigger
Jewelry that's bigger.

Children can be snatched before a photo and used as a shield
So can:
pillows, chairs, couches, various projects and the occasional and very judiciously placed half wall...(If you are lucky)
And if you aren't, eveyone knows you turn one quarter turn and suck your gut in, bend your leg, lift your chin and hope for the best.

If it's someone you know...you threaten them with maiming and a look and say...From HERE up.
lol.
All ladies know where here starts...
That's the chest.

Well, I have to say it feels good to wear bright colors....
and to stop pulling my childrens arms out of their sockets if they are unlucky enough to be within reaching distance when ever someone pulls out their camera.

But I have taken what I learned as a fat girl and am now using my knowledge to buy clothing that flatters me, even though I still have a stomach and thighs that are really holding the last 15 lbs or so.
(It is holding on for dear life right around my middle.)
But I shall perservere.
Remember, nothing is ever a waste if it adds to who you are.
I am glad I was a fat girl.
It made more aware of other's feelings.
It made me more aware of my own imperfections in both my physical look and my character.
It made me very aware of how lucky I was to have a husband who loves me, fat or thin.
That gives me a perspective I might not have had, had I not gotten big.
It also gives perspective on men who 100 lbs ago were allowing doors to swing in my face, but now hold them open.
It made me go inward.
I am grateful.
I will always be a former fat girl.
I am proud of that.
Some of the best people I know were or are.....
have a great night guys..
FFG,
Chris

HDC day 11- Progress pics

Hey all,
I went to good will with my girls today. They are looking for their costumes for an anime convention that is coming up.
So We went to Goodwill as always.
Then we went to The ARC store
Where I found a really cool red dress with a black lace overlay in a size 8.
So, I thought I would try it on to see how it looked...I had my jog bra on...so I didn't really do the girls justice, but when I take this dress out on the town I plan to be fully loaded with my push up bra deployed to the front lines..
but considering, I don't think it looks bad.

Click to enlarge (luckily it's not that easy lol)

I like the one on the left...sophie likes the one on the right....she didn't like the one on the left because it was 'blurry'...which is why i like it...the world looks more pleasant a little blurry...besides...I think my hips look smaller in the first one.
lololol.
Not humble at all....eh, I got room for improvement in major ways.
so...
I went to the gym and did my one hour on the elliptical and I did my weights and my situps.
IT's amazing but those situps never get easier...I don't know why.
I ate eggs and yogurt and left over turkey kielbasa and a sweet potato today...
I came in at 1490 calories. I wish sometimes that I was one of those bloggers who likes to write all this crap down..but I just don't.
I like to keep it in my head and go with it.
well, anywhoozle.
Hope everyone had a great day.
Hugs,
Chris

HDC day 10- A tale of Two Chris(es)

Hello all...
Let's leave yesterday where it belongs and move on shall we?
lol.
I want to talk about something I am sure a lot of people never talk about.
I have two sides.
I have the yuppie me
I have the artist me.
Alot of times yuppie me is a very thin veneer.
It cracks when things agitate me..
Things like lazy thinking, or big mouths
You have seen my house.
This is how I make my house because I want my children to have a happy, normal childhood.
Children deserve to be normal.
To be bored out of their skulls by their parents.
To be able to time, down to the minute, when their parents will be home.
What their parents will say.
What their parents will expect.
Shhhhhh....
don't tell my kids...
But there is another side of me..

There is something of 'her' hiding in me..

This is the me that loves rap, loves modern art (shhhh don't tell anyone lol) loves people sitting around and talking about philosophy and religion and politics.
This is the me that can spend hours drawing, and thinking.
The me that drew this last night...
While listening to snuff by slipknot....
Nothing is more creativity inspiring than great art by other artists, whatever the medium...
( Done with my daughter's crayola oil pastels....lol)
Then there is this me....

The me that tells the kids to eat their brussel sprouts. (actually it's brussels sprout(s)...depending.)
The me that says No to going out of the house after 7 pm with the kids.
The me that plans everything down to the penny on vacations.
The me that drives my minivan through the bad parts of town with the windows rolled up and the doors locked...
The me that won't frequent the Walmart on Platte because of the 'interesting' clientele....
The me that is uncomfortable with the cleavage on my new bathing suit.
The me that makes fun of modern art with my family back in Michigan.

Sometimes I feel that artist me and yuppie me are incompatible.
I was raised a southern baptist.
We don't smoke or drink or think subversive thoughts. lolol.
Except I have always had subversive thoughts.
I loathe black and white thinking.
But I believe in God, I believe in Jesus and everything that implies.
But, I hate caricatures of people...BUT, they are handy for dealing with people who love them.
Some people can only see black and white. Grey isn't an area they are willing to deal in.
Sometimes it is easier to dress the part, talk the part because the shallow people never look any deeper.
Then you don't have to waste energy trying to explain.
Sometimes you can have fun with people too shallow to look deeper.
I spent most of my high school career doing that.
But that too gets boring after a while.
I want to mesh my art and my life.
I think I may have to wait a while longer before that occurs in all it's glory.
For now I will allow my kids the luxury of a boring mother.
I will allow my husband and my poor neighbors the comfort of pansies and peonies and minivans and all that implies.

HDC DAY 9- The PMS version...

Hello all.
I got a great workout in because I was in the mood to inflict a little pain.
heard this song on radio and love love loved it cause it suited my mood.
700 calorie burn....I am knocking on 1300 cals before dinner.
I may yet bury my face in a container of cream cheese frosting that seems to be calling my name from my fridge.
I want the flies to stop buzzing so loudly.
The sun to stop shining.
Politicians to stop lying.
I want people to stop driving so poorly.
Ebonics to be banned.
I want everything to be chocolate coated.
I wanted a warm bath and a fluffy towel..
and if one more person leaves their crap lying around I am going to take it out back and burn it.

This post brough to you by
Crampy mcrampsalot and the all bloat band..
The Happy Chris will be back tomorrow after a couple more doses of midol and perhaps a minor chocolate meltdown.
For now its
Chris the B*tch out.....

HDC Day 8- WEIGH IN...

I weighed in at 152.5...Which is a loss of 2 lbs for the week.

A very good week.

Especially considering I have been losing about 3 lbs a month for the last few months.
That tells me either that I was on one heckuva plateau (my friend amber thinks so) or that I was fluffing too much on the calorie counting.

I think it was a combination of both.
But the combination of super serious exercise ( 5 days a week at the gym with a minimum burn requirement of at least 500 calories) and the calorie counting, seems to be producing pretty decent results.
I am in today at 1470 calories.

I would tell you all I ate but I am kind of sick of it already... I'll do it tomorrow.
I will put it at the bottom of my posts for those who are interested.
First I wanted to talk about a few more NSV's I have had lately that got knocked out of my conscious mind by the fact that I fit in my oldest daughter's (size 8) pants.

1.) I was walking back to my car from the gym the other day
(On my stairstepper days I decided to park a mile out from the gym so I could get my walk in and not bore myself to death on the treadmill...I walk in then back out...)

It's on the air force base...So as I am pondering on how much nicer the air force base is than the army base...twirling my way through my armband radio trying to find something that is NOT the black eyed peas, I come to a road where three or four cars are waiting to get out...as I approach the crosswalk I notice that the traffic they are trying to get out in has cleared (it's a difficult intersection) so I start waving them through...(they have to stop at pedestrian crosswalks...it's mandatory on post). So the first two go, and then this jeep stops and there is a blond guy (not bad looking) in the jeep..no top on this jeep...and he is yelling something but I can't hear him (I have my headphones in) So I pop an earbud out and he yells "You look good" In accented English...I say 'Thank you" (yeah me! I remembered.)...then the car behind him beeps and he waves and turns left...Apparently there are some polish troops training on peterson...That one beats the rednecks screaming "nice ass' a few months ago.

Well, that was nice.

Then Today, I was walking down the hall and my husband says 'You are too pretty'...and gives me a kiss.
I say 'Too pretty?'...
He says 'Yeah, I am going to have to ugly you up to keep other dudes away."

I thought that was sweet.

So, some quick pics of the house...

My living room with the new couch covers and the spray painted frames...

My curtains that I got from walmart..They are supposed to be 'kitchen' curtains..but I don't care. I wanted something 'bright and happy'...it lightened the whole room up like a thousand percent. Oh, and that candle thingie on the wall...found that at goodwill and spray painted that too...lol. Almond. I love spray paint.

My mantel...I braided some raffia and stuck some fake flowers in it and put my candle holders in it. That picture is of a man at the vietnam memorial...I say that about ten years ago and had to have it. My husband bought it for me and had it framed.

Sophie's room...I moved all the furniture around...and that's the vanity that I picked up at Good will and re did. That mirror I found in germany and actually redid for my oldest when she was little. It matched perfectly. I found that chandelier on sale at lowes a few years back and painted the leaves gold.

The curtains I found at the arc store a year or two ago...there were two left panels so I took the ruffle off the left side of the left panel and resewed it to the right side of the left panel...make a nice matched pair.

And that is my Sophie saying bye.

Have a great night guys,
Talk to you tomorrow.
Hugs,
Chris
