Zumba...

I tried it.
It was fun.
I went with my friend brooke.
She is the same person I climbed the cog railway with..
you know,  you have all sorts of friends.
Friends that you talk with..
friends that you get advice from..
and then you have friends who say things like..
"Hey, let's go run with the Bulls."
That's brooke.

I am one of those people who likes to try new things as long as I don't have to think of them.
So...I would say
"You really want to do that?"
They'd say yes..
and I would say "well, I'll give it a go."
lol.
And I did.
showed up and she gets right in the front.
of course.
big ole mirrors.
And the lady doing the class busts out that kid and play stuff from the nineties...
yo yo.
stay in place running.
I was all H*ll no.
but I got into it..
the only time I actually felt ridiculous was when she had us put our hands behind our head and do  pelvic thrusts.
and I almost wussed out.
Till I looked five peeps over and saw two 70 year old ladies burning it down.
And then I thought.
ohhhkay.
If they can, I can.
Apparently there is a zumba thon next saturday...
Think I will drop in on that.
do an hour to an hour and a half  or so. lol.
Can't hurt.
calories in and good.
exercise in and good.
Have a great day.

Oh the zumba... have tried it myself. I think I had a similar reaction to the 'ohhhkay' part.
If you want a workout that is just as challenging, but not so 90's dance party give tap dancing a go. Seriously, the best workout ever and remember I was once a pretty darn good ballet student. But that tap dancing can literally burn your butt off! Glad to see you're open to just about anything that isn't too crazy. That's my kind of fun!

My MIL is 56 and she does Zumba twice a week. I'm super proud of her. It's on my list of things to try someday. :)

Zumba is definitely on my list of things to try when I'm fitter! It looks and sounds like such fun. Well done for trying something new.

Zumba is on my list of "I really want to do it!" Unfortunately, all the classes around here (without joining another gym) are on the same nights as my Muay Thai. So for now, it's on hold.

I bet you could do 2 hours at the Zumba thon. Just saying.

I'm sure I've mentioned before that I'm a Jazzercise FANATIC, right? :) and not just because it burns 600 calories in an hour, NEVER has mirrors facing us, and has up to date music. I love it because the exercise and physiology research is always up to date and changing; the routines change every six weeks, you can go to unlimited classes for a set fee and you can find it all over the country and they'll all be doing it the same.

(I know, I should do Jazzercise commercials!)

Zumba is so fun! Our gym has so many people in the class, you have to fight for armbands to get in. Geez! Glad you liked the class!!

Keep focused!

I'm a Zumba instructor and I have to say that every class is different and every instructor is different.

I am a HUGE fan of pelvic thrusts and booty bouncing because, when controlled, it's fabulous for the abs and back.

I love Zumba and have lost 140 pounds due to it.

There you go Chris... glad you got into "zumba." I still get shy about doing that move... I've been doing a tougher zumba class for the last 3 weeks and I absolutely love the music and how much i sweat.

Glad you have a friend who you can do fun things with.
