Weigh in For the month...

Todays weight 210 lbs. I lost 8 pounds for the month and right now, I have lost a total of 52.4 lbs. This is also my Five month fativersary. So 52.4 lbs in five months. Pretty good.
Five months ago Today, I was wearing a size 24 pant. I now wear a size 18 pant.

Five months ago, I could walk about a mile. Today I can walk 3.5 miles with no problem.

Five months ago today, I would go grocery shopping and get worn out.

Today (or I should say yesterday) I took my girl scouts on a half mile hike, cleaned up the house, then went to the gym and did 55 minutes on the precor and five on a stairstepper.

If you are thinking about 'going on a diet'. Don't. Change your life instead.

Make sure you are aware of what you are eating, calories, fat and vitamins... the whole nine yards. What you put in your body matters.
Start moving. You will feel better and the weight will come off. More importantly, you will feel better about yourself. As Hanli from fertile healthy put it so eloquently, your life will "start expanding" (instead of your rear.)
Make a commitment to Take care of yourself for the rest of your life, and in five months time...you may have lost 52 pounds and feel (and look) a whole lot better.
Have a great Sunday,

Hi I have just discovered your blog via another blog and I just wanted to say I love it! I find it inspirational, witty and informative. I have been struggling with one diet (awful word) and another for all my adult life and I am now striving to change my life and put food in its rightful place. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and impart your wisdom to those of us that desperately need it!

Hi there! I love, love, love your comparisons. I think it's awesome to see your "real-life" impacts of weight loss... because, seriously, what's the point of losing weight if it doesn't change our life in a meaningful way? Thanks for the reminder that, in the end, THAT change is what it's all about, not necessarily the scale.

Keep up the good work!

Congrats on all you've accomplished in five months!

And congrats on making a life change. That can be the hard part. It's easy to just want to go on a specific diet for a period of time to lose weight. But I don't think a diet ever really works unless a lifestyle change is involved.

Changing your life can be so hard and scary but it's so worth it after you start feeling better and getting great results!

Such a good point about the "what" you put in your body. Some people get so caught up in the calorie-counting that they miss out on the importance of eating healthy foods.

Thanks for the tremendous comments on JSGF, Chris, and kudos on the fantastic loss for the month. You're rockin' this thing!

Yay!!! Congrats, that's awesome.

I totally agree on everything you said. You have to change your lifestyle- not go on a diet!

I wish I had read this post last night before I ate something terrible that I didn't realize how bad the nutritional value was. You're so right, you HAVE TO KNOW what your'e putting in your body! you can't assume. I made a mistake, but I learned my lesson.
keep goin' strong, girl

thank you for your sweet comment! I know you should eat 1200 calories a day, but I'm doing the Six Week Body Makeover diet, i'm sure you've heard of it, and i'm eating all the time but sometimes things I eat are just so low in calories they just don't quite add up...
i've been worrying about eating too little, cause i don't want my body to shut off and quit burning fat! but right now, this diet is working, and if it stops, i may very well add some more calories into my diet. but hopefully i'll be okay. i've seen some huge succcess stories with the 6WBM, so hopefully it won't do anything to my body. =)
can't wait to read another one of your posts soon! <3 keep up the good work!
