Chris beuller's day off...

Hello all,
I have decided to take a mental health day.
exhaustion has overwhelmed me...and before I eat my young...burn down my house or God forbid leave a less than tactful response on somebody's unsuspecting blog...
I am taking the night off.
I am going to sit somewhere with some hot cocoa and immerse my itty bitty brain in a gothic romance novel.
I am going to avoid contact with humanity and bank statements,
over zealous cookie troop managers and potential customers, piles of laundry, piles of dishes and piles of bills, responsibilities, sweaty and overly made up man eaters at the gym, and the smell of burning rubber and lycra.
Regular programming will resume tomorrow,
when I shall rid myself of the holiday blues, embrace the new year in all it's potential
and come out swinging.
Have a great night guys,
your tired blogger,
Chris

I recently read Jane Eyre for the first time. I recommend that one if you haven't read it.

Have a great night. You deserve it.

Sounds like a great plan. We all need some time off. I took a few days off myself. Amazing how much better I feel.

The prerogative of every mom: relaxing with a trashy romance novel. Ah.

Self-care is a thing of beauty. Good on you for practicing it on yourself.

I second that emotion! The only thing keeping me going at this point is that I have next Monday off from taching for MLK day. Thank goodness teachers get one weird holiday off per month. Too bad for parents though.

Enjoy your rest but blog about it tomorrow!

Sounds like a great way to spend an evening... I used to take a nice warm bubble bath, and read for a good hour in the tub.... until of course one of the kids pounded on the door.

Enjoy your evening Chris.

I have also been a cookie mom and GS leader for years. Every time you comment on the GS activities I feel for you. I know what a pain it can be! I also know that both of my grown daughters have some very fond memories of those times. It was worth the aggravation. So I congratulate you on your effort, those girls could not have a better role model! Enjoy your down time!

Sounds like you definitely needed some "me" time! I was up early this morning, cooking the breakfast and pushing the hubby and nephew out the door. I needed some me time too, took the time to start reading a book and catching up on reading blogs! Thanks for the cabbage recipe!

Good for you! You've been working hard and there is nothing like laying back and sticking your brain into a good book.

Hope you had a fantastic day!

Sounds like a much-deserved break. And I'm a day late in reading this post so I will say, hope your day went well and you got a little rested up anyhow.
