Finally...the nsv I've been waiting for...

Hey all,
How is it hanging.
Pretty good here.
The one thing i have been waitingfor lo these many months occurred today..
As I was depositing my husbands check in the bank.

I hand over my ID card.
On this ID card is a picture of my melon head at it's most ripe.
262.4 lbs of melon madness.
Round as can be, no neck in sight.
Since then I have lost 94 lbs minimum.
I look a wee bit different.
But every time I go through the gate on post and hand in my ID card...
nary a flicker.
Not even a closer look.
Just a wave through...
It happened again today.
Waved through.
So I wasn't expecting anything in regards to my ID card.

I slide my card across the counter...
tip tap tip tap....
then I hear...
"HEEEEEEEYYYY...
You look different."
At this point I am gazing off into the atmosphere, unaware that my most fervent hope was coming to fruition...
So my comeback was "Huh?"
"Your picture," she says...
"You look different."
I said, "Well yes, I lost some weight."
"How much!?" She asks...
"Well nearly a hundred pounds," I say.

"Wow! You look beautiful."

(Now I have a new favorite teller)
I say...wait for it...

THANK YOU.
lol

So, there you have it.
I look different then my melon headed picture.
Nsv and boy was it worth waiting for.

I did a 5.6 mile walk today.
Scale isn't budging...not sure what's up with that.
But I am sure it will start moving again.
So, keep up the good work and all your melon head pictures will be before shots too.

Chris out.

Wow, you look so different now!

Its funny how the gate guards fail to notice these changes. A couple of months ago they were doing a training thing at our base & security was super tight going through the gate. One of the guys actually made me pull to the side because he said the picture & stats on my ID didn't match my physical appearance. It was crazy... embarrassing & amusing all rolled into one. Incidently, he's my favorite gate guard now, lol.

That is so great, Chris. And I'm so glad she didn't say, "Oh you were pretty then too!" And I'm glad you didn't fight off the compliment!

When I was heavy, I had this belief that my head never got fat, that all my weight was carried in my hips. Well, I actually did have a fat head too and with the weight loss and then the new look I went ahead and got a new driver's license when I was done!

Thank you for your comment, it was an "Ah Ha" moment for me. I think I may be owing you something for that..

That's freaking awesome. I'm sure that just made your week. I'm hoping my ID brings that kind of recognition too.

Keep it up! Almost at the 100 mark!

This is a NSV that I am still waiting on. My license still shows me 90 pounds heavier than I am now, yet no one has brought that up. In fact, just a few weeks ago when I handed it to a cashier she said, "yep, that's you." I thought to myself, did you even look at it?

Congrats Chris! Great NSV!

You were beautiful before. It's just that your beauty now has a layer of happiness underneath.

WOHOOO!!!! I live for those highs. Can't wait until someone IDs me. Honey keeps teasing that one day I will get pulled over and the cop will take me in to make sure I didn't steal someone elses license. One day, one day I will be a SKINNY little identity theif just like you. One day. :D

Ah, that is a great one, yes?

That happened to me when I went in to renew my license at DMV. The DMV lady says, 'I just took a picture of half of you.' I didn't really realize just how much weight I had lost until she held the photos up side by side.

Relish these moments. They keep giving back if you let them. :)
