A feel good story of the year...

no tongue in cheek here folks.
No updates on the diet front. After my near pass out of three nights ago getting out of the bathtub and subsequent realization that I had an iron problem ONCE AGAIN...I upped my calories to 1800 and did two days of light workouts...both two to three miles of walking. I feel much better tonight. And when I was at a girl scout meeting tonight I was able to sit down and stand up with no dizziness...I am on my third day of iron pills.
When I was little I used to pass out....so thankfully it didn't get that far. But it did make me realize I need to pay more attention to the What of my diet...not just the how much.
So will be researching 'balanced diet' tonight...but for now I thought I would be leaving you with a story about a man who was lost to drugs and alcohol...then got clean and found God...
And then got the break of a lifetime..
enjoy..I sure did.

Have a good one,
hugs,
Chris

Oh wow, that was such a lovely happy news video to watch. Thanks for that Chris.

Glad you got the dizzy thing sorted. Am rooting for you to get to your goal. You're one of the reasons I'm blogging and paying more attention to my diet, and really thinking about my health and life fitness. I came across your blog about 5 months ago, and what you wrote then really struck a chord with me.

I see all the bloggers I read everyday as a kind of Good News Channel. So much better to start my day with that postive note. Thanks again.

Ohh, what a funny coincidence and prescient too, my word verification to post this is 'funtold'... God? Life? The Benevolent Universe? Serendipity? All good. Happy Days! :)

What an inspiring story! I always love to hear about people who have turned their lives around and then pass their joy on to others.
About the dizziness, since you are dieting it might be a good idea to take more supplements than just iron. I am on very low calories and so I take two multi vitamins a day plus 1000 mgs of Calcium Citrate, Be complex, B12 injection once a month. Of course, I malabsorb a lot of vitamins so I need more than average but this might be something to research and talk with your doctor about. Hope you are feeling better soon. :)

Glad you're feeling better, iron is a tough problem I've been told.

I saw that story. So many emotions in response--some feel good, others, well, not so much.

As fars as the WHAT of the diet. yes. I think we all need to come to that. For most of us who have 100 pounds or so to lose, we just want to LOSE IT.

But there comes a point when we have to decide if we value our health or not. We then fill our calories with sound nutrition if we do. If not, if we're still discounting ourselves, but just in a different way, we'll fill those calories with fake food and chemicals and nutritionally questinable stuff.

It all comes down to how important I htink I am. Uh-hmm. I'm still struggling with this a little. This speech was for me. :}

I saw that on tv last night. Walk a mile in someone's shoes and do not judge...

I am glad that you are back on the iron pills. Have you considered just staying on them? Some people need to take them, you know. Perhaps when you are eating at 1400 calories you need to suplement your diet with iron pills. Just a thought. You should probably take a women's multi vitamin, too, if you aren't already.

I didn't comment on your courage post because I read it right after you posted it, and it was a lot. I probably should go back and read it again before commenting now. This whole life thing is about lessons. How to love. How to live. I think that we are all scared. We just do the best we can. And that includes you. I think that you are very courageous. You keep going. That is what courage is. Keeping on. Not giving up. Taking the hits and moving forward. That's all.

Thanks for sharing Chris. I saw the headlines and wasn't interested in seeing the video, but now glad I did. LOVE your new years photo Chris! You are such an inspiration to me! Congratulations.

I saw him on the news this morning, what a voice! I heard that the guy who used to do virtually every movie trailer in that deep resonating "What if you woke up one morning and found that everything..." voice passed away. Maybe he could step up to the role.
