I love the Jehovah's witnesses....huge nsv.

Hey all.
Okay,
So I am a southern baptist.  But I have great respect for the jehovah's witnesses.
I may not believe in what they believe in, but they sure do believe in it and they put their money where their mouths are.
It's the same reason I like a slew of people.
I love Martin Sheen, the actor...Lady Gaga the singer....
The same reason if I ever get mormon missionaries I invite them in to have vigorous bible debates.
I don't agree with them, but they let it all hang out, as it were.
I admire that.
Same thing with this nice gentlemen who comes by once a month to leave me  those watchtower books.
He is about 65 and is always sharply dressed....He isn't obnoxious, but a gentlemen.
I really like him.
My husband always wants to know why I don't just tell them to go away.
I don't want to discourage them.
It's their mandate, to spread the gospel.
So every month he comes to my door, and every month we have a discussion.
Always respectful, always polite.
One time he wasn't the one to come to my door, it was another young man who was a bit pugnacious.
Our conversation went like this:
"Hello ma'am, are you a believer in Christ?"
I say, "Indeed I am, I"m a southern Baptist
Kid looks taken aback.
"But ma'am...do you really believe a loving God would send people to hell?"
I say "With all my heart."
He says "That doesn't bother you?"
I say "No, there has to be some sort of justice for pedophiles and murderers..wouldn't be very fair if there was no punishment"....
He says "For eternity"
I say, "Yep".
"And that doesn't bother you?"
I say "Nope, If every pedophile burns eternally in a lake of fire..it doesn't bother me one iota."
He says "Have a nice day"
I say, "You too"..
The next month the nattily dressed gentlemen was back...lol.
Last month was a little strange...kind of awkward...He didn't say much.
Well, today I found out why.
HE THOUGHT I WAS MY DAUGHTER.
When he finally realized it was me, he turned to the little guy he  was training and said..
I came to the door last month and wasn't sure if it was her or her daughter....
(My daughter is 5'8 and a size 8 btw)
He has been dropping these magazines off at my house for over two years now...
(I think he thinks he's making progress, God love him.)
Lol.
Anyways..the fact that the dude I see once a month didn't recognize me..huge NSV.
I MUST look different. lol.
So, anywhoozle...
I went for my big ole hike today.
I am going back to the gym tomorrow.
I think for May I am going to switch it up and on wednesdays, instead of doing my hike, I'll do 10 minutes on the stairstepper, walk two miles and jog one and then a 20 minute interval training session on the stationary bike .
So
Sunday, Tuesday, and thursday....elliptical and weights.
Monday and Fridays 5.6 mile walks.
Wednesdays walk/jog...stairstepper and bike.

Ending weight goal for may is 155.
Have a great night Guys...

chris out.

Awesome NSV! And you have a great point about the Jehovah's witnesses & Mormons... I may not agree with them, but there is something to be admired about their dedication to what they believe.

I've actually laid down on the floor to avoid answering the door for those bible peddlers. lol

Ha, I get the younger lady and her partner each time. They are nice to me also, I saw that gentleman today walking around the neighborhood today.

Sounds like good plan, have fun.

I've never minded missionaries of any type. I consider myself and person of faith (of even great faith) and certainly understand their desire to share their ministry with others. That doesn't mean I'm going to convert or anything and I always am a little surprised that they ring the doorbell despite my gigantic mezuzah on the doorpost!

But awesome NSV, Chris!

Is there a better compliment than to be mistaken for your beautiful daughter? Congrats on the NSV!

I love that my front door bell doesn't work so I don't have to deal with any solicitors. Everyone who knows me knows to come up the back stairs. ;)

Now THAT is something to celebrate!!

Great NSV...congrats!

You're a better woman than I am - like TJ, I'd clamor down to the basement to not answer the door, or at least tell them I'm busy. I'm very peaceful and grateful for my untraditional and non-religious relationship with God.

Great when someone doesn't recognize you and even better when they mistake you for your daughter *big smile*. Way to go on the great workouts I'm sure you'll make to that 155, you are flying down the scale.

They are persistent and they know what they believe.

That's a Huge NSV. I've given them some time before, but they kind of just give the general speech and are ready to take off.

keep it up. you'll hit that goal too.

Holy cow, great post. Good for you for looking HAWT!

As an ex-mormon and a good friend of a JW, This post is awesome. Good for you for taking the position you do. Although I fear for these people's sanity (cuz they believe in the insane) I'm glad someone has the balls to give them some respect. Thanks Chris!

Now, I would say that that is one great compliment.

That's awesome. And like you, I do admire their dedication to what they believe.

My aunt has a guy that brings her the Watchtower every month. They don't agree, but they are friends.
